The research projects below are similar to the ones that appear in recent versions of my intermediate algebra books.

I assign these projects for extra credit in my classes. I expect students to submit them in printed form, just as they would turn in a paper for another class. I have designed these problems so they will appeal to students with a variety of interests. There are projects for students studying English, history, philosophy, religion, and cartography (map-making), among others. Don't be concerned if you aren't familiar with the topics in the research projects. Have your students do the research and then report on what they have learned.
