RESEARCH PROJECT: Building Squares from Odd Numbers

There is a relationship that exists between the sequence of squares and the sequence of odd numbers. In The Book of Squares, written by Fibonacci 1225, Fibonacci has this to say about that relationship

I thought about the origin of all square numbers and discovered that they arise out of the increasing sequence of odd numbers.

Work with the sequence of odd numbers until you discover how it can be used to produce the sequence of squares. Then write an essay in which you give a written description of the relationship between the two sequences, along with a diagram that illustrates the relationship. Your essay should be clear and concise, and written so that any of your classmates can read it and understand the relationship you are describing.
